At the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the Olympian became a worldwide sensation after scoring the world's first asymmetrical perfect ten bars. In addition her score, she was able to rack up 6 more perfect 10, which made her the youngest Olympic gold medalist at just 14 years old. While Nadia Comaneci did get attention from all angles however, she also assisted in helping Romania locate itself in the international map. With a score that was not possible, this sporting icon brought gymnastics to the forefront of the world's interest. The sport changed the way people view female gymnasts. Her influence on the Olympics was so significant it is that 2 of her movements such as the toe-on movement as well as the release move were named after her. Both are classified as difficult to the highest level. Additionally to the Olympics She also displayed exceptional performance at of the World Championships & European Championships. This is how she became a legend in gymnastics and was one of the most famous athletes the world has ever witnessed. The 'Queen of Olympics attempted her hand at modeling and promoting sports equipment when she left for the US.
